Who we are, what we're building toward, and where MR pumps are put to work.
We develop vacuum pumps that are simple to own — dry, low-maintenance, and built to run for years without surprises.
Torren was founded in 2024 by a team of vacuum engineers who'd spent years watching customers struggle with the same problem: oil-sealed pumps that needed constant attention, and dry pumps that cost a fortune. So we set out to develop something in between — a dry, oil-free pump platform that's actually affordable to own over its lifetime, not just at the point of sale. The MR series is what came out of that.
Where MR vacuum pumps are put to work, across seven industries.
Mid-range mass spectrometers, electron microscopes (SEM), surface analysis instruments, particle accelerators, helium mass spectrometer leak detectors, synchrotron radiation, vacuum drying and filtration, and materials analysis.
Vacuum freeze-drying, diagnostic analysis equipment, aseptic filling lines, biologics, and pharmaceutical processes such as vacuum filling for oral solutions, injections, and eye drops.
Glove boxes, vacuum drying ovens, chip packaging, wafer inspection, small-scale etching, electron-beam lithography, LCD injection, plasma cleaning, and use as a backing pump for turbomolecular pumps.
Flywheel energy storage, hydrogen energy (fuel cells, hydrogen production, hydrogen storage), photovoltaics (lab and perovskite research), lithium battery and energy storage (drying, electrolyte filling, leak detection), wind power (vacuum impregnation, leak detection), nuclear energy (precision leak detection, instrumentation), and new energy vehicles (battery and stack leak detection).
Optical coating, microelectronics and semiconductor coating, food and pharmaceutical packaging coating, and research or process development involving special reactive gases such as oxygen and acetylene.
Vacuum drying for premium foods, instant coffee, pet food, and health supplements; food vacuum packaging; clean vacuum handling for food and pharmaceutical products; and vacuum filling for premium skincare and perfume.
High-speed refrigerated centrifuges, small vacuum furnaces, space-environment simulation chambers, and other equipment for life-science and pharmaceutical research.
